Do different programs have different ways of doing word processing or are they similar, such as Word and Clarisworks?
Most word processing programs work very similarly. Generally, once you know how to use one kind of program, many of the skills can transfer to another. Menu items may just be located in different places.
Can you retrieve deleted items? Is there a time limit on this?
Yes, you can retrieve deleted items as long as you don't empty the trash (on a Mac) or the recycle bin (on a PC).
To retrieve the deleted item, just drag the item bag out of the trash or recycling bin.
To delete the item permanently:
On a Mac, click Special and then Empty Trash
On a PC, double-click the recycling bin and then click File > Empty Trash
Note: to make more space on your computer, you must actually empty the trash or recycling bin because otherwise it is not really deleted from your computer and still taking up space.
What if you are cut off without saving your work? Can this be retrieved?
If you get cut off without saving, sometimes the computer creates a recovered file. This will automatically open the next time you open the software that you were using.
The best way to prevent losing your work is to set up the software to automatically save every few minutes. In Word, click Tools menu and select Preferences. Click the Save tab. Check off "Save Auto Recover Info" and then select how often you want it to save. Sadly this only works on mac.
If you want to save it an easy way is to press control and save.

How do you find a file if you forgot the name and/or location?
On the Mac, click on the Apple in the upper left corner and then scroll down to Sherlock. Type in what you know about the file and click the magnifying glass.

Can I prevent freezing?
Yes, there are some preventative measures. You want to try and speed up the computer. You can do this by trashing some things to free up space on your computer. You can add more memory -- but that costs money.
You can run programs that "defrag" the computer like Disk Warrior. Defragging is just a fancy term for organizing all your data. Think about it as if you are trying to get through your child's room but it is all messy with toys haphazardly placed around the room. Defragging is like asking your child to clean up his room. Once it is straigthened, it is much easier to get around. The computer is the same way.
On the Mac, you can also try resetting the PRAM. To reset the PRAM, restart your computer and hold down the option + apple + R + P (make sure the caps lock is not engaged). Hold the keys down until you hear the start up sound a second time, then release the keys. This will reset any special setting you had in your control panel.
Why does it freeze?
A computer freezes because it is trying to handle too much information all at once and it gets confused. Usually, it is running slowly and you keep clicking the same thing again and again. The computer then tries to execute all of those commands and eventually gets overloaded.

Web design is a process of conceptualization, planning, modeling, and execution of electronic media content delivery via Internet in the form of technologies (such as markup languages) suitable for interpretation and display by a web browser or other web-based graphical user interfaces (GUIs).

HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) is the set of markup symbols or codes inserted in a file intended for display on a World Wide Web browser page. The markup tells the Web browser how to display a Web page's words and images for the user. Each individual markup code is referred to as an element (but many people also refer to it as a tag). Some elements come in pairs that indicate when some display effect is to begin and when it is to end.

Media Integration
Methods used for input to and output from ICT systems vary a lot. In your revision you need to be familiar with examples of input and output formats.
Input and output formats are the different kinds of media that are used to:
+EITHER gather up and collect data and instructions
+OR to display, present or issue the outputs of processing.
Up until recently most media formats required dedicated devices to run on - for example, digital cameras to take digital photographs, scanners to digitise images for use on a computer, or VCR players for video playback - so you needed the correct matching device in order to work with each media format.
There is now a growing tendency for multi-purpose ICT devices. The driving force is the communication power of the Internet, and the increasing availability of small high-powered electronic technology. This means that you can now get an all-in-one box that can do the same thing as several different ones did before. Here are some examples:
+combined printers, scanners and photocopiers
+televisions with built in Internet connections and web browsers
+mobile phones and phones with Internet access and digital cameras.
+laptop, palmtop and table computers that have mobile Internet access and built in handwriting recognition.
There are now single devices available which incorporate the following features: phone, camera, disk storage, TV and Internet access.
Media means storing of digital data, such as a floppy disk, DVD, hard drive or a digital camera flash card ; or means of presenting information to the user via pictures, vidio and sound- as in the phrase multi media.
